The two sisters will be in the USA January 10 through March 6,
2008 and will be in residence primarily in the Bay Area with
shorter residencies scheduled in Portland, OR, Seattle area and
Oklahoma.
Their visit is a preliminary move to feel out the possibility of
establishing a nuns' community in the USA and they are looking
forward to having much dialogue with all interested people. The
sisters hope that many folks will come to visit them and spend
time for meditation, chanting, meal offerings, tea, and lots of
conversation and talk on Dhamma.
Schedule:
January 10-22:
In residence in Ukiah, CA. On Sunday, January 13, there will be a
day of meditation beginning at 10am (dana at 11am; please
bring a dish to share with the sisters) with more meditation in
the afternoon ending with a tea. This event will be held at 789
Live Oak Ave, Ukiah. Contact Donna at 707-391-1000 or email

January 19:
Supporters' Coordination Meeting to include a meal offering,
meditation, and blessing. 10am-6pm at the Green Valley Forest
Refuge, Sebastopol, CA. For information, contact Ron at

January 22-February 8 or 13:
The sisters will be in residence at One Heart Center, Los Altos,
CA (this is a yoga center). Feel free to bring dana and share the
meal with them on any day when they are not otherwise
engaged; also, join them for evening puja from 7:30-8:45 when
they are not engaged. Please phone Mary at 650-559-9053 for
available days and google "One Heart Center Los Altos" for
location.
January 22:
The BLS is organizing a meditation and dhamma talk for women
beginning at 7:00 pm at Epworth United Methodist Church,
Berkeley, CA. Go to Room 29 on the second floor at the back of
the building. For information please send email to
carolnewh@aol.com. Please note that this event is intended for
women.
January 23:
Meditation and discussion/talk at the Quaker Meeting House at
1041 Morse Street, San Jose, CA. 7:30-9:00 pm. Please bring
your own zafu if you like to sit on the floor. (This was previously
scheduled for Jan 16.)
January 26:
The ajahns will lead a one day retreat at the Vipassana Santa
Cruz Center, 1010 Fair St, Santa Cruz, CA, 9:00-5:00 pm.
January 27:
Tea at 5pm and evening puja to begin at 7:30 pm at One Heart
Center, Los Altos, CA. Please phone Mary at 650-559-9053 for
details and google "One Heart Center Los Altos" for location.
January 30:
The sisters will be at Coastside Vipassana in Montara, CA for
tea and to lead the meditation. The evening's theme will be
"Touching Truth" and will begin with 6pm tea and conversation
followed by a guided meditation beginning at about 7:30pm.

February 2:
Day long retreat at One Heart Center in Los Altos, CA. 9-5pm.
The day will include meditation, meal offering, Dhamma
discussion and yoga. There is only space for 15 people so
register early by calling Mary at 650-559-9053.
February 5:
The sisters will lead the Sanghapala Meditation Group with an
evening of chanting, meditation, and Dhamma talk/discussion.
Berkeley Buddhist Monastery, 2304 McKinley Ave, Berkeley. Tea
from 5-6:30 followed by puja from 7:30-9:30pm.
IN OKLAHOMA:
February 13-17:
The sisters will be in Oklahoma and will be leading meditation,
Dhamma discussions, etc.
February 14:
Short meditation and interactive discussion beginning at 7pm at
Windsong Dogo Innerspace, 2201 NW I-44 Service Road,

February 15:
Meditation and interactive discussion at 7pm at the Oklahoma
Memorial Union at Oklahoma University, 900 Asp Avenue,

February 16:
"Embracing the Present" will be the theme of this one-day
retreat with Ajahns Anandabodhi and Santacitta. 9:00 am-4:30
pm at Wat Sangharatanaram Community Center, 5301 S. Foster
Rd, Oklahoma City, OK. Dana for the teachers plus a $10 fee for
the vegetarian lunch. Please bring your own sitting cushion.

February 17-24:
The sisters will be in residence in Seattle. Please contact

Alms round (pindapat) in Portland, OR at around 9:30am on
Hawthorne Blvd, between 32nd and 45th. In the evening, join the
sisters from 7:00-9:00pm at Portland Friends of Dhamma for
puja, silent meditation and Dhamma discussion. 1327 SE

February 21:
The sisters will lead a meditation and Dhamma discussion/talk
at the Eastside Meditation Group, a satellite group of Seattle
Insight Meditation Society, from 7:00-9:00 pm at 7510 117th Ave

February 24:
"New Beginnings" retreat with Ajahns Anandabodhi and
Santacitta, 1:30-6:00 pm at the Lakewood/Seward Park
Community Club, 4916 South Angeline St, Seattle. Guided sitting
and walking meditation (bring your own mat if you don't want to
use a chair), Dhamma dialogue, and informal tea with
discussion on the subject of the possibility of a nuns'
community in North America. Suggested donation for the day is

The sisters will be teaching at the weekly women's class at
Spirit Rock from 10am-12pm. This will take place in the
community meditation hall and will include a period of
